For nearly ten years, Judge Memorial has had a class in brewing beer as part of its Gala Curriculum, and we are delighted to once again offer this course to eager learners and lovers of beer. Bulldog Brew School is back for 2026. Join us Sunday, March 22nd at 5:00 pm in the Judge Cafeteria!
Dr. Dasch and Mr. Jeffreys are proud and excited to announce our newest official member of the Bulldog Brew School faculty, Joe Mastrorocco, a long-time local beer professional (some would say beer celebrity). Mr. Mastrorocco is currently a sales director for Roy Farms, the largest hop farm in the United States, who, since 1907, have specialized in farmer direct hops to your beer. Prior to that, Mr. Mastrorocco spent 16 years with Uinta Brewing, a cornerstone of the Utah craft beer scene. There, he did everything from production line to sales manager. He has spent decades traveling and living beer. In short, the man knows his stuff, and he’ll lead a beer tasting focused on how hop variety and grain types affect flavor and aroma of different brews.
Dr. Dasch, a home brewer for 20 years with 100 batches under his belt, will use his scientific expertise to guide participants in making two home brews of their choice, based on the beer tasting experience. Mr. Jeffreys, Judge Brew School’s director of hospitality, will work to keep delicious local grub in your bellies and distinctive local and regional cold ones in your hands. He may also expound on how beer is a driver of scientific thought, a catalyst for civilization, a subject of art and literature, and an essential cultural adhesive.
